A client in Suffolk chose a movable floor for his swimming pool on the suggestion of the architect. This was not the first swimming pool the client had having previously installed one at another of his homes and this house did already have a pool but it needed renovating. The architect suggested they rebuild the whole pool to incorporate a movable floor and make the area into a flexible entertainment space.
The space itself has spectacular views over the gardens and surrounding estate as the house is set in an elevated postion. The room itself has floor to ceiling windows to maximize the view and so using the swimming pool space for a function room as well was a very appealing proposition.
Hydrofloors were chosen for the project as the pool builder had previously worked with them and their movable floor system and so he immediately recommended them. The team at Hydrofloors worked directly with the architect and the designer on the project to produce a unique, bespoke swimming pool that fitted into the surroundings. The Client was thrilled with the final project and often shows his guests the floor in motion even when they don’t want a swim! “I never imagined I would do this but everyone wants a demonstration and they never fail to be impressed!” The added wow factor has become a source of pride. They value the floor because they regularly use that space for parties and previously were unable to do that. Additionally, the humidity in the room remains the same when the water is locked away under the floor and it no longer has the feel or smell of a swimming pool room. They often have guests with young children and being able to stop the floor at a height where the children can all stand makes it safe for swimming and adds enormous peace of mind.
The client has now had his movable floor for 4 years and has been extremely impressed with the service Hydrofloors has offered. “We recently had an issue and Hydrofloors arrived just a few hours later and solved the issue. Sometimes you only know the true value of a company when things go wrong and their fast service made us even more confident to recommend them. They are professional, efficient, friendly and even 4 years down the line are happy to help and there are not many companies you can say that about. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.”
Located on the magical Kiawah Island in South Carolina, this stunning outdoor swimming pool was the ‘brainchild’ of several minds – the family who owns the pool, the architects, contractor, pool designer, interior designer and Twinscape.
