Movable Floors
Movable Spa Floors allow you to utilise the space of the spa when closed as well as providing for ultimate in security. The floor of the spa can move up and down.
The principle is the same as the movable floor for a swimming pool, except it is not variable depth but just open or closed. This bespoke design allows you to reuse the room without the inconvenience of an unusable area. No-one need even know there is a spa beneath the floor.
Each project is specifically designed to meet your requirements and our team works in partnership with your pool builder and architect to ensure everything is to your complete satisfaction.
Technical Information
Our moveable spa floor can be built to almost any size required, but it’s important to bear in mind that retrofitting in an existing spa will not be possible.
The floor surface finish consists of 3mm thick stainless steel plates that are ready to be tiled/finished in accordance with your design concepts.
The Movable Spa Floor is installed inside a new-to-build spa. When the floor is in its highest position, the floor can be used to stand/walk or dance on. It can carry up to 350kg/m2 (72lbs/ft2).
When you decide to use the spa, you just push the control button and the floor will sink down inside the spa. Once the floor is approximately 50cm (20in) under the water level, the floor will stop on 2, 3 or 4 sides and then transform into benches to recline or sit on. The middle of the floor (foot well) will continue to go down another 50cm (20in). When this process has finished, the spa is ready to be used.
The structure is operated by a water-based hydraulics. All components (structure, hydraulics, etc.) are sized with safety of paramount importance.

This was not the first swimming pool the client had having previously installed one at another of his homes and this house did already have a pool but it needed renovating. The architect suggested they rebuild the whole pool to incorporate a movable floor and make the area into a flexible entertainment space.
