Adrian
Senior Design Engineer
I have worked within the design engineering discipline for many years and have experience in most working environments from heavy steel manufacture to the food industry.
My journey began with a 4-year apprenticeship Boilermaker at BSC LLanwern South Wales and I simultaneously studied for a HND course in Fabrication Welding and Material Science. This gave me enormous scope and enabled me to overcome many challenging design tasks. My time at British Steel and willingness of my mentors to teach me additional skills, such as; hot riveting, black smithery, manual turning, milling and sheet metal, has meant I have become skilled in many other different disciplines.
After leaving the steel industry, I worked as an independent contractor throughout the UK for the petrol, chemical, food and mechanical industries principally as a fabricator welder and here I gained AMIE 9 6G Coding in MIG, TIG & MMA welding and AutoCAD City & Guilds 2D & 3D.
I started as a Design Engineer within the architectural and construction industries, working in glass, aluminium & Stainless-Steel. Working as part of a team, we designed many conceptual structures such as elegant glass staircases and innovative glass walkways. I always endeavoured to bring something new to each design in either appearance or technology and working as part of a think tank, we pioneered new ideas for connecting buildings and linking spaces. I worked designing conventional curtain walls and bolted systems but also, I helped to develop unconventional solutions to overcome a client’s preferences on various contracts such as moving solar shading, sun tracking Brise Soleil, ventilation louvres, balcony & canopies which utilised hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems. During this time, I added structural, mechanical engineering software including Autodesk Inventor, Finite Element analysis, Revit Tekla Structures to my skills.
I am delighted to be joining the Twinscape team and believe I will play a valuable role in achieving their vision and ambitions in the future. I believe in the integrity and the ethos of the company and think that my accumulated skills & enthusiasm will enhance the projects.

A client in Suffolk chose a movable floor for his swimming pool on the suggestion of the architect. This was not the first swimming pool the client had having previously installed one at another of his homes and this house did already have a pool but it needed renovating.
